This little mind-game is based on the data of "top points" distribution during the Eurovision Song Contest finals in Belgrade 2008. "Top points" meaning the three highest scores to distributed, namely 12, 10 and 8 points. Having an isolated view on the voting patterns of the countries of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, we could read the following:
- 3 out of 6 former former Yugoslav (fY) countries made it to the finals (Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia).
- Out of possible 180 "top points", 118 (or 65,6%) stayed within former Yugoslavia. This means an average of 39,3 points for each fY finalist from fY countries.
- The remaining 62 top points which went out to five other countries (Albania, Turkey, Greece, Russia, and Azerbajdjan). This is an average of 12,4 points per non-fY country.
- Out of 25 possible finalists, the countries of former Yugoslavia voted for 8 countries.
